The Montgomery Art Association�s, �Paint the Town� Labor Day Weekend Art Show is held in the Kensington Armory, located at 3710 Mitchell Street in Kensington, MD 20895. Registration is due by August 25, 2010. One of the pieces of artwork must reflect or be representative of the Town of Kensington. All artists are asked to assist with the show in some capacity.
In addition to the Kensington Armory exhibition, there is also a Plein Air Event that takes place on Saturday, September 4th from daybreak to 3 pm. This event is free for members of MAA and $5 for non-members. You do not need to participate in the general show in order to participate in the Plein Air Event. It will be judged separately from the general show at 3 pm on Saturday, September 4th. These artworks will then be on exhibit at the Armory Show and available for sale if so desired. Bring blank canvases or art paper with you. We will stamp the back. Painting must not begin until daybreak on Saturday, September 4th.
Registration for the Plein Air Event will be held at the Kensington Armory at the following times:
  • Thursday, September 2nd between 5 - 7 pm
  • Friday, September 3rd between 10 am - 2 pm
  • Saturday, Sept. 4th between 9 - 9:30 am.

Prices are 9 cents per square inch with a $25 set up fee if photography is required. That would be $28.80 for a 16x20" print, plus photo fee if necessary.

This year, Utrecht Art Supplies is proud to join American Artist Magazine and The Grand Central Academy of Art in presenting their 2nd Annual Contest. This year, the Grand Prize Winner will receive a 6-week scholarship to study at The Grand Central Academy of Art located in New York City. (a value worth up to $7500.00).
Entries to the Competition must be submitted through the website, www.utrecht.com/contest, where complete entry instructions are posted. The Competition begins on April 19, 2010 and ends on September 1, 2010.
